Question Title

* 4. Major guitar manufacturers have been concerned about the sustainability of the materials they use in their products for many years, and mass production has rendered many species of wood as endangered and therefore illegal for trading. Examples of this include Honduran Mahogany, Brazilian Rosewood, and Madagascan Ebony.

In recent decades, manufacturers have been using substitutes that possess similar properties to those that have been endangered, such as African Mahogany and Indian Rosewood, but now even those materials are severely under threat from overexploitation from many different industries. Furniture manufacturers are by far the biggest threat on this issue, but the instrument manufacturing industry contributes to the problem. And market demand for traditional guitar manufacturing materials makes change very difficult.

At any rate, given the current rate of demand, it is inevitable that more sustainable materials need to be introduced.

Given these factors, where do you rank the importance of using more sustainable materials in musical instruments?
