The Council for Court Excellence is working with a private/public partnership of local and federal agencies to design an educational program to keep employers abreast of changes in the law and in policy.

CCE is a 32-year-old DC-based non-profit that works to improve the administration of justice in DC, with a recent focus on the effects of a criminal record on employment. The results of this work have been research and advocacy to seal criminal records for low-level, non-violent misdemeanor convictions (2006), limited liability protection for employers that hire people with a criminal record (2012), and the publication of Unlocking Employment Opportunity (2011).
