ABOUT THIS SURVEY
WHAT
Public input is wanted on a new fare policy being developed by DART. The new policy will cover:
- Types of fare media including cash, passes, tokens and smart cards
- New options for daily, weekly and monthly passes
- Transfers for riders paying with cash or tokens
IMPORTANT NOTE: DART is NOT proposing to increase fare prices.
WHY
The policy is being drafted in preparation for new fare boxes being purchased by DART. The new fare boxes will accept new types of payments, including smart cards, which store cash value and/or passes. The new policy will go into effect simultaneously with the installation of the new fare boxes in early 2015.
