Introduction

WHAT IS THIS?
The Victorian State Government has made it mandatory that every Victorian Council develop and submit a Domestic Animal Management Plan and then revise it every 4 years.

To set some framework to further structure a new plan, Council wishes to consult the community about what issues regarding Responsible Pet Ownership may affect you and your neighbourhood, and what measures Council may then implement to address any issues.

The information provided will be a valuable contribution in the development of Frankston City’s Domestic Animal Management Plan 2012 - 2016.

HOW CAN I HELP?
This survey will ask questions about DOG and CAT owners ONLY – HOWEVER if you are not a pet owner or own another type of pet, we would still like to know about your experience with these domestic animals within the municipality.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY RESPONSES?
Your responses will assist in the development of the Plan, and provide Council with relevant information to assist you as best they can. The key objectives for the Plan will be:
• To educate the community about responsible pet ownership;
• To ensure that satisfactory levels of compliance with legislation and community standards are established and maintained;
• To maximise the benefits to the community that may be gained by owning companion animals.

YOUR PRIVACY
Please take a few moments to complete the survey. All responses will remain anonymous and only aggregate results will be reported.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this survey please contact Frankston City Council’s Compliance and Safety Team by calling 1300 322 322.
