A Placental Molar Disease Diagnostic Service: Let’s Improve the Management of Women with Suspected Placental Molar Disease!

Goal:
To understand how a new lab diagnostic service for suspected hydatidiform moles improves pathologic diagnosis and leads to optimal patient management.
Objectives:
To review the limitations of histopathology and immunohistochemistry in the diagnosis of hydatidiform moles.
To integrate the use of genotyping in the assessment of products of conception.
To appraise the value of a diagnostic service using formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue that combines histopathology, immunohistochemistry, and genotyping.
