A great parks and recreation system helps to create a great community. Parks and recreation contribute to community livability, resident health, provide education and support, and contribute to the image and beauty of a city. Parks are the places where people go to play, gather, and relax.
Elk River is planning for the future of its parks and recreation system. The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan is to guide future investments to ensure the parks and recreation system continues to meet the needs of the community and remains economically sustainable.
Based on a community-wide survey and parks and recreation needs assessment, draft priorities and recommendations have been developed and were presented at a Community Open House on August 20th 2014.
