This spring, HHS will issue funding opportunity announcement (FOA) for $500 million for Early Head Start/Child Care Partnerships. The goal is to use the existing Head Start grant making authority to provide funding opportunities to eligible applicants to improve the quality and availability of early childhood settings for children birth to age three. All grants will be new grants with priority given to those willing to establish partnerships between EHS and child care programs (both center-based and family child care) and those who can demonstrate a continuum of care that helps children transition from one program to another through school entry.
