Background: This coming July, the Oregon Department of Education will be facilitating Science Achievement Standards Verification to set new science cut scores aligned with the 2009 science content standards. In preparation for this standards verification, we have developed Science Achievement Level Descriptors (ALDs) to help frame this discussion.

Copies of the proposed Grades 5, 8, and HS Science Achievement Level Descriptors have been made available to you. Please review those ALDs for which you have content area knowledge.

Your feedback on this process will help us build a strong framework for this summer’s standards verification and will ensure this work is reflective of and accessible to Oregon stakeholders.
