The ACA Center for Counseling Practice, Policy, and Research is accepting applications for the first cohort of the ACA Scholars-in-Residence. The Scholars-In-Residence Program introduces ACA members to the important role ACA plays in ensuring a life in the community for everyone. This program offers professionals with practical experience in activities, special assignments, and/or research projects that support federal, state, and community-based programs, policies, and best practices in various counseling settings: School, Private, Hospitals and Community Agency settings.

The ACA Center for Counseling Practice, Policy, and Research will select two Scholars-in-Residence annually. Each scholar will be selected using the following guidelines and will be compensated for their service using the rubric below:

• The first position will be allocated to a practicing counselor.
• The second position will be allocated to a graduate student who has completed a minimum of 30 credit hours in a regionally accredited Counseling degree program.
• Both interns will serve for one full year working within the ACA Center for Counseling Practice, Policy, and Research.
• Both interns will work for 10 hours per week.
• Both interns will be provided a stipend of $10,000 for the practicing counselor and $7,500 for a graduate student.

The application process begins on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 and ends on Friday, October 31, 2014. The final selection of the 2014 Scholars-in-Residence will be announced in December, 2014. Scholars will begin their work experiences with the Center in early February, 2015.
