To whom it may concern:

The purpose of this survey is to provide Fauquier County's Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management (DFREM) with information about the capability and willingness of your organization to provide voluntary relief services should a disaster occur in our area. Experience has shown that regions with strong community-based networks already in place are able to cope with a disaster's impact more effectively than those who must organize for the first time amid the chaos after an incident. Fauquier County's DFREM realizes the importance of integration of voluntary, faith-based, and community-based stakeholders within the disaster life-cycle. We are reaching out to your organization specifically because we believe you have a certain skill-set or supplies that may be helpful in the event of a disaster. The information provided in this survey will better equip our department in building networks with those organizations willing to assist in an emergency situation and with long-term recovery. We thank you for your time and efforts to make our community better prepared for disaster. Please feel free to contact our office should you have any questions regarding this survey or questions about the emergency preparedness community.

Best regards,
