Two webinars have been developed for ICFE which will be hosted on a Webex system. Details on each session and how to register are provided below.
ICFE Webinar 1 – 20 February 2013 (2-3pm)
Teaching financial and accounting professionals
This session is aimed at teachers with little knowledge of finance and accounting. It will outline some of the issues involved in teaching financial and accounting English, make suggestions about course design and content, and look at resources available to teachers planning an ICFE course.

Designing materials to teach financial English
Many teachers are unsure how best to teach the language of financial English, which can appear very technical to the uninitiated. Course books can be useful, but with some classes they don't quite fit the bill. This session will demonstrate just how simple it is to create effective materials using software tools which are either inexpensive to buy or freely available on the internet.

Presenter – Evan Frendo BSc (Mech Eng), LCCI Dip TEB, MSc TESP
Evan Frendo is a freelance Business English trainer, teacher trainer and author based in Berlin. He is also a Cambridge English Language Assessment (formally Cambridge ESOL) presenter. A frequent speaker at conferences, he travels regularly in Europe and Asia to run courses or to work as a consultant. One of his current destinations is Hanshan Normal University in Chaozhou, China, where he holds the position of Visiting Professor. He has considerable experience in the writing of corporate in-house training materials, and has built up several industry-specific corpora which he uses to inform this work. He has also published nearly twenty course books in the fields of Business English and ESP. His methodology book for teachers, “How to Teach Business English” (Longman, 2005), is particularly well known and is used in teacher training all over the world.
