Older people in the community are vastly under-researched compared to those in urban areas. This innovative volume offers a unique interdisciplinary perspective on this issue, focusing on older people's assets in rural civic society and demonstrating how the use of diverse methods from across disciplines aims to increase public engagement with this research. The authors examine the ways in which rural elders are connected to community and place, the contributions they make to family and neighbours, and the organisations and groups to which they belong.

Please join us for the formal launch of the book and other outcomes arising from the research, and recognition of the co-editors, academic and community partners who contributed towards this interdisciplinary £1M research project including Plymouth University, University of the West of England, Swansea University and Age UK and rural transport companies.

Please note the book launch will be followed by a afternoon cream tea reception and we aim to finish at around 3 pm.
