Case Management is an essential component of treatment and sustained healthy living for individuals dealing with addiction and mental health concerns.

Our clients typically have addiction, mental health, legal and other concerns that impact their sustained success in establishing a healthy and independent life. Increasing success in treatment includes assisting clients obtain productive employment. Case Management can be a challenge for many therapists. This training is intended to share strategies for preparing effective, strengths based case management treatment plans focusing on identifying employment needs and assisting clients in obtaining employment.

Schedule and Objectives:

1:15 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Registration
1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

- Identify and introduce the Employment portion of the Strengths Based Assessment and screening tools useful for identifying employment needs for treatment planning. The strengths and challenges of the tools will be discussed along with suggestions for increasing effectiveness.

- Identify and discuss practical strategies for developing effective and individualized treatment plans that addresses early and sustained recovery case management/employment needs for the substance dependent individual with mental health and other concerns.

- Identify and discuss typical barriers and solutions regarding job search activities for clients including suggestions for assisting clients with problematic employment and education histories.

- Identify and discuss standard guidelines for developing a résumé, interview skills and strategies for dealing with the problematic employment and education histories.

- Participants will practice the skills introduced using a case example.

Turn left into the parking lot just past The Elite Plaza sign. Directly in front of you is "A Cut From Above." Turn left between the two buildings. We are in the building on the right (east). You should see a set of double glass doors set back (not flush with the front of the building) go through those doors and turn right.

From the East on Highway 9:
Turn north on 24th street East and follow the road until you get to Robinson Street and go West (left) to Flood Avenue. Turn left (north) on to Flood Avenue.
