Section 5: Advanced Technology Training Assessment

The Nebraska Broadband project is working to expand broadband reach and effectiveness for Nebraskans. To help develop the best possible plans, we need good information. We invite you to complete and submit this survey.

In today’s environment, basic technology skills must often be supplemented by advanced, specialized training. This advanced training can lead to a variety of certifications that are becoming increasingly valuable to IT professionals and the organizations they support. According to TechRepublic, certifications in project management, information security, network management and software development can lead to some of the highest-paying technology positions available. One challenge is the availability of training opportunities that lead to various certifications, particularly for IT professionals in rural areas. This challenge is mitigated in some situations by the availability of self-directed online training opportunities.

Following is a brief survey for you to examine your community leadership. This survey corresponds to Section 5: Advanced Technology Training in the Engaging People. Linking the World Broadband Planning Workbook, Page 83. The workbook can be found at: http://go.unl.edu/broadbandplanningworkbook.
