Admission is now closed for enrollment in 3rd Quarter/2nd Semester. All applications completed at this time will be considered for 4th quarter enrollment with 4th Quarter classes beginning March 23rd, 2015. Student interview meetings for those who have applied for 4th quarter will begin March 3rd.
In order to be successful in Denver Online High School, students must be self motivated and need to plan to spend the equivalent of a full school-day, five days a week, actively working on coursework. If the student and guardian are not disciplined and organized, or if the student requires the face-to-face interaction that a classroom provides, online learning may not be the best schooling option. Students who have a history of not being able to independently complete schoolwork in a regular school setting generally are not a good fit for an online school, which requires higher levels of self-discipline and self-motivation than traditional schools. While instructors and fellow students can provide some support, the online distance learner is expected to have internal motivation to manage his or her own learning during the course of study and have a basic grasp of Internet navigation skills. Please carefully consider whether or not online learning will be a good fit for the student before following the enrollment steps below.
After this application is complete, a faculty member from Denver Online will contact you soon to schedule an interview. Students seeking full time enrollment must bring in the following paperwork to their interview:
-Official Birth Certificate
-Immunization record or signed exemption form
-Proof of residence (example: utility bill)
-If applicable, special education paperwork (IEP/504)
-If the student has attended a high school outside of the DPS District boundaries, please submit an official transcript from each school the student attended
It is important to note that students who are approved for enrollment will be granted provisional enrollment status. If a student doesn’t meet the requirements outlined above, s/he will not be permitted to enroll for more than one semester.
