[BBZ] Mini-Grant Advisory Group Application!

Welcome to the application for the Best Babies Zone Mini-Grant Advisory Group Application!

The Mini-Grant Advisory Group (MAG) is a team of eight community members from East Oakland. This is an exciting opportunity to choose important community-identified projects to be implemented in your neighborhood (Castlemont: MacArthur to Olive/Birch, and 82nd to 94th)! You will get to choose among projects submitted by community members and local organizations, focusing on improving safety & violence, building community connections, improving education ,and driving economic growth.

Applications will be accepted until April 31st and will be chosen until program reaches capacity.

INFORMATION ABOUT MAG!!!

Why should you be a member of the MAG?

--Play a key role in awarding money for neighborhood-based projects
--Work in a group to be trained to review proposals
--Make the final decision on grant winners

What does it take to be a member of the MAG?

(A) Passion about the Castlemont neighborhood and East Oakland
(B) Being a voice for community strengths and challenges
(C) Being comfortable speaking, reading, and understanding English
(D) Able to commit to the group and process, requiring one 2 hr meeting per month (April-July 2014), including a half-day review session
