New Cases Scholars Application

Faculty, graduate students or postdocs users are invited to apply for a mentored experience with one of the case mentors. The fellows agree to participate in one or more groups, adapt one existing case and develop one or more cases and pilot their use.

Each fellow will be invited to choose one of three meeting this year for their initial experience. New fellow will receive $500 plus travel to one or more of our meetings.

 This year the initial meetings will be held at Emory, April 10-12 or in conjunction with BioQUEST June 13-20 in California.
The Emory meeting will include short sessions on Finding and Adapting Cases, Writing Cases, and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning with Cases.  Substantial worktime will allow participants to leave with a plan for the year.  Advanced participatns  can work on grant writing or new cases.

The BQ/SCN meeting in California (Count the Ways: Engaging Students in Quantitative Biology Applications will be held June 13-20, 2015 at the Claremont Colleges, CA. Use quantitative cases as a framework to explore resources for teaching basic to advanced quantitative skills. Participants will work with like-minded colleagues develop activities for their own classrooms. This workshop is a joint meeting of BioQUEST, the HHMI Quantitative Biology Consortium and SCN.

This is a one year fellowship.  Applicants will receive the $500 incentive upon completion.
