In May of 1999, the first Johnson County Charter Commission was convened and ended a year later with recommendations that the county adopt a home rule charter form of government along with three interrelated questions for voters to decide in the operational structure of County Government. According to the charter by-laws the Board of County Commissioners must convene a new charter commission every 10 years to determine if any changes need to be made to the home rule charter. This charter commission has been installed and is seeking input from Johnson County citizens.
The following questions and results will be delivered to the charter commission on March 29, 2011. Thank you for your interest and concern.
