Help Tamela Design an Armchair Travel Program

Design Tamela's Armchair Travel Program

Travel teaches us a lot about ourselves and our world. Since we can't travel to every place we'd like to visit, I would like to get your thoughts on an Armchair Travel program focused on North America. You could "travel" to a number of places from your "armchair." The program could be as simple as videos with discussion threads, an online book club or something much more elaborate.

What would you like to see in a program like this?

Foodie travel: regional foods and their histories, food festivals, best farmers markets, etc.

Cultures: for example, what does Acadian culture of eastern Canada have in common with Cajun culture in Louisiana?

National Parks: not only what to see and do, but also their natural histories

Travel themes: for example Old River Road, patriotic travel, whale watching

Human history: debunking "common knowledge" about historical events, and so forth.

The Arts: arts and music festivals, roadside art, Americana, museums, etc.

Natural history: the botany, mineralogy, or zoology of a region and how they affected settlement conflicts, culture and politics

Historical places: Trail of Tears, Revolutionary War sites, Erie Canal, etc

Westward Expansion: Oregon Trail, Pacific Trail, Pony Express, Sante Fe Trail, etc.
