The purpose of this survey is to gauge your school’s initial status on the first level of Dr. Robert J. Marzano’s High Reliability Schools framework. The levels of school effectiveness and high reliability are based on Dr. Marzano’s research and practical experience working with teachers, schools, and districts in all 50 United States and internationally over the past four decades.
Level 1 addresses factors considered to be foundational to any substantive change within a school. Level 1 has eight leading indicators which provide evidence that a school is working on the first level and is progressing through that level. The data collected from the survey should provide direction for school leaders about the issues and initiatives that will be most fruitful to address if they are working to achieve the first level of high reliability, a safe and orderly environment. This survey will also provide school leaders with an initial indication of what the successful practices are in your school and what might be the next steps your school can take to help achieve higher levels of reliability.
