Listing and annotation: Celery powder
Use: As a nonorganically produced agricultural products allowed as an ingredient in or on processed products labeled as “organic" only when the product is not commercially available in organic form.
Common applications: Used in meat, poultry and seafood products primarily as a natural source of Nitrate, althoug it can also contribute to a savory flavor of the final meat product.Natural form of Nitrate is converted to nitrite. This reacts with the meat and results in a "cured" meat product.
