Introduction

The NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation has a key role as the primary agency in NSW for engaging clinicians in designing and implementing new models of care.

The NSW pain plan recognizes the need for agreed practical, evidence based tools and educational resources for consumers and health practitioners to be readily available for pain management in the primary care sector.

The purpose of this survey is to review the resources and support needs of practice nurses in managing chronic pain in the community setting which will enable them to better support GPs and their patients. The results will be collated to source, develop and implement evidence based relevant educational activities and resources, for primary health care nurses for pain management across Australia.
