1. iMusical: The Improvised Musical - Open Call for Women to Audition
Washington Improv Theater will hold a second set of open auditions (women only) for its long-running, smash hit show, "iMusical: The Improvised Musical."
WHO SHOULD AUDITION: Female performers who have completed WIT's Level 3 "Scene" class, or have previous (non-musical) improv training or performance experience (e.g. troupe performances and/or study at another established improv theater/institution). Please detail this experience in your sign-up form. You will also be asked for your singing/musical background.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you previously auditioned for iMusical on Tue 2/18, there is no need to audition again. You will be contacted if we would like you to attend the callback audition.
Open call: MONDAY 4/14
Callback: MONDAY 4/21 or MONDAY 4/28
Sign-up for Auditions is first-come, first-served and ends April 12 at 11:59pm.
Auditions will be held at Centro Nia, 1420 Columbia Road, NW, in the basement Music Room.
You will be improvising songs and scenes at the audition; there is no need to bring prepared material. If available, please bring a headshot and résumé. Prior musical theater performance experience helpful. You will learn how to improvise songs, as needed, through rehearsals once cast.
You are encouraged to attend performances of iMusical, if you have not previously seen the show. Upcoming performances are on FRIDAY April 4 at 8PM and 10PM, and FRIDAY April 11 at 8PM.
No pay for most shows, but opportunities for paid gigs from time to time.
Performances generally run seasonally with the WIT calendar (often Friday or Saturday evenings), and weekly rehearsals are on Monday evenings.
Please submit the below registration to schedule an audition time, as well as to ask any additional questions.
Please also visit www.iMusical.org for more information about the show, if needed.
