District Department of the Environment’s Survey: “For a Cleaner Anacostia River”

What is the “For a Cleaner Anacostia River” project? The District Department of the Environment (DDOE) is the lead agency to determine what needs to be done to clean the Anacostia River. DDOE will characterize the environmental conditions of the river and investigate to what extent historic or current activities have contributed to the contamination of the river sediment.

Who should take the survey? Community Leaders, Stakeholders and the General Public

What will be done with the survey results? DDOE will consider all responses and where feasible, make changes in the Community Involvement Plan (CIP). CIP includes details on how the public will be informed on the progress being made to clean the Anacostia River.
