The Employment First Maine Coalition (www.employmentfirstmaine.org) was developed as part of a new Maine state law (Sec. A-1. 26 MRSA c. 39, Employment First Maine Act) to help align state services and state funding to improve employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
The Coalition is gathering information on best practices that would support Maine businesses in hiring employees with disabilities. This information will be utilized to craft policy recommendations to the Governor, Legislature and the Commissioners of the Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and Education.
Your input is essential to help Maine develop a workforce that is strong, vital and inclusive while benefiting you as an employer.
