Town of Blackfalds - Sustainability Plan

Help shape the future of Blackfalds by sharing what is important to you!

INTRODUCTION:

The Blackfalds Sustainability Plan exhibits Blackfalds’ commitment toward building a sustainable future. It provides long-term visions, goals, and strategies to guide Blackfalds into the future. It is an overarching document that provides direction for all other Town plans and guides Town staff and Council in the preparation of future budgets.

The Sustainability Planning process is an exceptional way for the Town of Blackfalds to look long-term at the community and to take proactive steps to build the ideal community that residents desire. It is a holistic approach that examines the 5 individual pillars of sustainability: Environment, Economy, Social, Culture, and Governance, and makes the connections to the health and well-being of the entire community. For details on the goals for each of these pillars, please see the complete Draft Sustainability plan at www.blackfalds.com.

Your input will help the Town of Blackfalds create a plan that will depict what is truly important to community members.

BACKGROUND:

The Federal and Provincial Governments provide funding for municipalities to address their individual needs as they look to the future. In order to access this funding each community is required to have their own Sustainability Plan.
