Equality is all about fairness; people receiving equal opportunities and being protected from discrimination regardless of who they are. However, being equal doesn’t mean that everyone should be treated the same way. Equality is the recognition that people have different needs but everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

We want to make sure we commission excellent health services with equality at their core. To do this we have produced five equality objectives. These objectives will sit next to our organisational goals. This will give us a way of measuring how successful we are at putting equality at the heart of everything we do.

You can read the draft Equality Strategy for more information about how the equality objectives will be used.

We want your opinion

We would like your opinion. Are we on the right track? Is there anything you think we should be focusing on? Have you experienced inequality in the health services you’ve received? Please complete this short survey and let us know. We want to hear your views, opinions, concerns and stories.
