Bargas Environmental Consulting
- A small, but growing, environmental consulting firm located in Midtown Sacramento, specializes in biological resources, regulatory permitting, and project management services for public and private sector. Angela DePaoli, Owner/CEO, founded Bargas environmental in 2012 and named it after her grandfather who left Mexico in the 30's looking for work, and instilled hard work and determination. Bargas has grown to 5 employees and recently moved to a larger location. They are a certified Small Business, Women and Minority owned, and through CalTrans Diverse business enterprise.

D'PrimeraMano Magazine
- D'PrimeraMano has gone from an 18 page publication to over 80 pages in an industry that many people deemed impossible. Over the past 5 years, Maria and Miguel Borgus have grown their business, employees and community connections to serve the Spanish Speaking community. D'PrimeraMano offers the Latino community relevant health, business, and community information for free in 13 surronding counties. D'PrimeraMano has been a loyal and effective Media Partner for the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and consistency donates to SHCC members for free advertising.

Jose Espinoza Bail Bonds
- Jose Espinoza Bail Bonds serves the Northern and Central areas of California with agents in Redding, Santa Rosa, Stockton, Modesto, Fresno and Visalia. JEBB has created a call center modeled business to reduce his overhead, and centralize his operations. JEBB is an innovative business that is developing software to serve his clients with more expedited serves. Along with his business accomplishment, Jose Espinoza has a Master's in Business from Sacramento State, and is a Captain in the California National Guard.

Law Offices of Klug, Dhaliwal, & Lopez, A Professional Corporation (KDL Law)
- KDL Law is comprised of three diverse attorneys that have worked together for years before deciding to create their own firm. In a short time, using SHCC resources like Nx level Business academy, KDL Law has been able to become a three partner law firm serving the region for immigration, bankruptcy, workers compensation, personal injury and criminal defense. KDL Law provides informational and educational resources to persons facing legal challenges, and offered free seminars to communities througout Northern California. Carolina Lopez, Partner, serves as a SHCC Ambassador including volunteering at dozens of events through the year. She has been represent in many media outlets in the region offering free advice to the Spanish speaking community.

* 2. Young Professional of the Year

Marilyn Sakai, Managing Member of Lee & Sakai
- Marilyn started her career with the SHCC nearly 15 years ago as a Sac State Accounting Intern, and today she is the accounting company that ensures the SHCC is transparent. Through many hardships in her personal life, she has been able to rise to the occasion to run a successful company. She realized from an early age that her accounting knowledge can be the greatest service to the Latino community, and now most of her clients consist of business start ups, single mothers, students, single parents out of work, nonprofits, associations and Hispanic owned businesses. She has created an avenue that helps businesses build the foundation for success by encompassing her notions of: honesty and integrity. Marilyn has sat on the SHCC Education Committee, SHCC Finance Committee, is currently Executive VP at Carroll Elementary School PTA, and a Child Ministry Teacher. Marilyn is a graduate from Sacramento State.

Cynthia Moreno, Capitol Correspondent Vida en el Valle
- Cynthia has made leaps and bounds in the Journalism industry starting from an assignment reporter in 2010, and moving to Sacramento to as a political correspondent in 2012. While many of her stories focused on the Latino community including cultural events, entertainment, her work in Sacramento shifted to polical, investigative and more in depth of capitol events. She noticed in her move to Sacramento, there was a lack of Latino journalist, and this was her chance to be a voice for the Latino community. Never turning down stories to ensure the Latino voice is heard, and never being afraid to raise questions to bring an important issue to light. Cynthia takes on the role of the Voice for Latinos, and has utilized the SHCC as a resource for members to have opportunities to been seen in stories. She has received numerous awards from the McClatchy Company, and is a graduate from UC Berkley.

Jesse Rodriguez, Spanish Media Coordinator for the CA Senate Republican Caucus
- Jesse started with the SHCC as an intern to help create avenues for businesses to participate in the Trade Missions to Mexico, and stayed to take on many other roles. Through his internship at the SHCC he was referred to his current job, and has continued to be a avid volunteer for the SHCC. He has taken on his new role learning more about the legislative process, and ensuring the Latino community voice is heard. He stays active in the SHCC as an event volunteer, and takes on other roles of community service include the Cien Amigo Young Professionals, UC Davis Aggie Alumni Association, and serves in the Youth Activities with the Knights of Columbus. Jesse stays busy by participating in two church choirs playing the bass, and is in his band, La Noche Oskura. Jesse is a graduate from UCDavis.
