School Closings and Charter Schools Survey
Dear WTU Member:
D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson has announced the proposed closing of 20 public schools throughout the city beginning in the 2013-2014 school year. As DCPS gathers responses and comments from stakeholders across the city, it is crucial for District leaders to hear from an important stakeholder—you.
The Washington Teachers’ Union has issued this important survey to hear your opinion on the Chancellor’s proposal. This survey is anonymous. Your DCPS Employee ID will be used to validate your responses and ensure that only WTU members are completing this survey. The demographic information you provide will give greater insights for our analysis.
The results collected will be shared with Chancellor Henderson at WTU's general membership meeting on Tuesday, December 11 at McKinley Tech High School at 4:30 p.m. We will also share our findings with Mayor Gray, D.C. Council members and other District leaders to help inform their decisions. I appreciate your dedication to education and thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.
In progress and respect,
Nathan A. Saunders
