AFACCT Conference 2015 Call for Proposals

The AFACCT two-day conference at Carroll Community College on January 8-9, 2015, offers opportunities for Maryland community college faculty members and administrators to present ideas on a wide range of topics and to interact with peers from other institutions. The theme of Conference 2015 is "Changes in Community College Teaching and Learning: Evolution, Devolution, or Stasis?" You may propose a 60-minute presentation, a poster session, or a 60-minute panel discussion on this theme or on any topic related to community college teaching and/or learning. Note: An asterisk appearing in the text boxes below * means that answers are required.

60-minute Presentation (Please allow yourself time within this time frame to answer questions). A real-time presentation accompanied by a PowerPoint slideshow or other visual media. (morning or afternoon session).

Poster Display (including PowerPoint/Web Site displays). "Poster Displays" are set up in a single room for both days. Presenters of Poster Displays are expected to remain in the room at designated and scheduled times both days to answer questions and explain their displays. Presenters are also responsible for setting up and breaking down their displays, and for providing their own poster boards, laptops, and hand-out materials. A prepared talk is not expected.

Discipline-specific meeting (e.g., mathematics--MMATYC; developmental education--DEAM; or chief academic officers--M4CAO).

60-minute Panel Discussion: Panels may consist of up to four panelists and one moderator.

* 5. Description of Presentation. This is for the Conference Program. Please write an appealing 3 to 4 sentence description which will convince your colleagues to attend your presentation. Please limit your description to 75 words. If it exceeds this length, the description will be truncated to the first 75 words and edited accordingly.

* 7. Your Equipment and Supply Needs: Check all that apply. The host college -- Carroll Community College -- will provide the equipment listed below in most of the presentation rooms. However, please check your equipment needs from the list. If you are bringing your own laptop computer and want to connect to the Carroll Community College network, or if you have other equipment needs, please indicate that in the "Other/Comments" text box. Room assignments are determined on the basis of your equipment needs. Once rooms are assigned, changes cannot be guaranteed, but we will do all we can to accommodate your needs.

N.B. Poster Display presenters are responsible for providing their own poster boards, laptops, and hand-out materials.
