Infection control practices in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) are closely aligned. Infection control programs in both our countries are influenced by Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) from the USA and we have an opportunity to collaborate with our USA colleagues to explore adoption and implementation of key practices in the field of patient safety and healthcare associated infection prevention. Participation in this survey also provides ANZ an opportunity to contribute for the first time to a comprehensive understanding of global infection prevention activities. Who should complete this survey ?
• If there is MORE THAN ONE ICP at your healthcare facility, then the person who is the manager and supervises and/or coordinates the other INFECTION CONTROL PRACTITIONERS should complete the survey.
• If you work for a healthcare service where ICPs are responsible for MORE THAN ONE FACILITY, please respond to all of the survey questions with respect to the primary ACUTE CARE facility at which you work and answer only for care associated with ADULT patients. By ACUTE CARE we are referring to a facility where a patient receives active but short term treatment for a severe injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from surgery.
There are no right or wrong answers to the infection control practice questions only different strategies that are being used for infection prevention.
The entire survey should take you less than 30 minutes to complete. Your answers are completely confidential and only aggregate results will be reported.
