Personal Devices in the Classroom: A Distraction and/or a Learning Tool?
Welcome to the registration form for “Personal Devices in the Classroom: A Distraction and/or a Learning Tool?,” a Faculty Forum hosted by the Center for Teaching & Faculty Development, OIT, and the Libraries. The forum will be held on Thursday, February 6th from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM in the conference room on the 26th Floor of the Library (across from the Teaching Commons).
Do you encourage personal electronic device use in your classes? Do you discourage it? Do your students look at their laptop/phone/tablet screens more than the front of the room, and does it bother you? Or have you found engaging ways to incorporate personal devices into your teaching? At this Faculty Forum, David Gross (Biology), Beatrice Botch (Chemistry), and Linda Enghagen (Hospitality & Tourism Management) will share their philosophies and kick off a lively conversation on the role of personal technology in the classroom. Best practices and resources will be shared.
Please take a minute to answer the following questions, and we will put you on our participant list. We look forward to seeing you there!
