The Recorder is seeking nominations for Corporate Department of the Year, which will go to the firm whose overall corporate practice stood above its peers based on the size, scope and success of representations undertaken or completed/announced in 2015. We will also recognize seven specialty practices; industry sector trusted advisors, and once again recognize inside deal drivers with our In-House Impact Awards. Submissions are taken online here and due by Feb. 19. Winners announced March 25.

In addition to the overall Corporate Department of the Year, we will honor practices in these categories:

1. U.S. M&A.
2. Cross-border M&A.
3. Capital markets
4. Venture capital
5. Emerging companies
6. Tech transactions
7. Corporate governance

The Recorder is also seeking nominations for Trusted Advisor awards. These go to individuals whose engagements demonstrate that clients seek them out for their strategic insight into particular industry sectors.

Finally, we are seeking nominations for In-House Impact Awards, which recognize mission-critical contributions from individual lawyers on the client's in-house team.

To nominate a practice, lawyer or in-house attorney, go to our Survey Monkey form and answer a few questions. Be as specific as possible in explaining why the result obtained was important to the client, what challenges stood in the way, and what the nominee did that was extraordinary. Our editorial staff may contact you to get additional details.

Rules: Open to law firms of all sizes and locations, but only submit for consideration engagements in which the lead or co-lead partner is based in California. Contest period is Jan. 1, 2015 through Dec. 31, 2015; submit only those matters in which the client’s objective was achieved in that time frame. You can nominate the same work in different categories.
