Information on Projects and Activities

During the next month there are many opportunities for service for young people in Teens in Action and their friends. To participate, they must join Teens in Action so that they are covered on our insurance. There are many folks who have not yet paid their dues.

Upcoming activities are listed below. Most have no costs, others have a fee.

What: Mentor UP-- Technology Mentoring program for Seniors
When: Thursday, July 31, 2014
Time: 1 PM to 3 PM
Where: AARP 601 E Street NW, Washington DC 20049
Who: Teens who wish to earn service hours for work with the Elderly and are familiar with use of computers, cell phones, and IPads---
I need 15-20 Teens
I must have registration via email registration at No Later than Friday July 25, 2014.

Two : Wednesdays-- Summer Program at Penn Mar in Forestville on Tuesdays and some Wednesdays

Three: Helping with Book Days at Bishop McNamara High School (this is school service and does not count for Christian Service Hours)

Parent Volunteers are needed for the Service Learning Conference. We have a booth, many opportunities to participate and earn service hours toward school or community service .

I understand that I am responsible for pre-approval of all projects with my school service coordinator to ensure that I get credit for my hours.
I understand that I will be required to write a reflection on the project prior to getting a signature from Camp Fire Teens in Action Advisors.
