MCWT Survey Purpose and Definitions

The purpose of this application is to gather information about your desire to become a MENTOR for the MCWT Mentoring Program.

As a Mentor you will:

- Receive a Mentor Guide that will assist you in planning meetings and development activities with your mentee.
- Support your mentee in personal & professional development goal setting
- Listen and advise
- Share successes and challenges
- Ask and guide rather than tell and direct
- Provide guidance on accessing MCWT eLearning programs to support your mentee's development
- Encourage your mentee to participate in MCWT Elevate Mentoring Program events
- Attend the Launch Event from 6-9 PM on September 18, 2013 (location to be determined).
- At your option (and to support your mentee), attend a mid-year networking event, to be scheduled. You will receive more information well in advance.

The MCWT Mentoring Team will review prospective mentee and mentor applications and will match each mentee with a mentor based on the responses.

The program requirements are:

• You may choose to be either a mentor or a mentee. You may not be both.

• The mentor/mentee engagement is for twelve (12) months with a launch meeting beginning September 18, 2013 and ending in August, 2014.

• Participants are encouraged to communicate monthly.

• All participants will be invited to attend a networking/learning session at a minimum of twice during the program. There will be a graduation event.

• Participants may provide reference materials/ articles to the Mentoring Team for consideration to share with all participants in the program.

• The Mentoring Team will solicit your feedback about your mentoring experience. Throughout the year, we will want to know about your progress; however your comments and recommendations are welcome anytime.

• The Mentoring Team will conduct a follow-up survey that can be completed by the individual partners anonymously to be sure the “matches” are compatible.
