Each center report should provide concise summary of milestones during the period.
Failure to submit this report accurately and in a timely manner could jeopardize future funding. The SBA has greatly reduced that maximum length of this narrative report and bulleted items under the report sections will be greatly appreciated.
Report Content:
•Bullet events, memberships and activities when possible. Utilize italics if reporting event titles.
•Report using third person (ie. The Lane Director spoke at …..)
•Report new activity and omit repetitive or broad statements. (Omit – Advocated for SBDC services with Chambers of Commerce. / Instead – The director spoke on January 14 at the Chamber of Commerce and advocated for SBDC services while announcing the winter training schedules.)
•Include and list advocacy with local, state, or federal representatives and provide dates where possible.
•Include details of loan products or event participations discussed with banks. Include names of lenders contacted and dates of discussion where possible.
•Provide detail of economic development and civic memberships you participate in. Report key small business or economic information that would not be well known outside of the region served.
•Provide the number of referrals made to partnering organizations such as GCAP (Sect. 700). Discuss specific training participations with such organizations.
•Discuss job impacts with special focus groups.Provide information regarding MOU’s or contracts developed where appropriate.
•Describe how many clients were assisted with business research needs (Sect. 1000 Research).
•Provide solutions desired with problems listed in section 1400 Problems.
•If there are “No items to report”. It is alright to place this in a section. It would also be helpful to identify in your work plan future efforts if planned for sections without activity.
•Online activity can include anything from electronic newsletters, e-mail promotion, webinars, video conferencing, and new resources added in backstage.
Please provide details of such activities particularly where these practices and resources could be shared statewide.
If there is nothing to report for a category, it is alright to leave that section blank.
