There are three open seats on the Executive Committee. You may nominate an individual or run for office yourself. Nominees must hold a leadership position at an OCLC member institution.

You may nominate an individual or run for office yourself. Nominees must hold a leadership position at an OCLC member institution.

The terms for these positions will be three years, beginning on 1 July 2015 and ending on 30 June 2018.

The Asia Pacific Regional Council bylaws state that no two members of the Executive Committee may come from member institutions from the same country or region. Because the following individuals will complete their terms in June 2016 or 2017, individuals from Australia, China, Malaysia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea and Taiwan are not eligible to run in this election:

o Howard Amos, University Librarian, University of Otago, New Zealand
o Craig Anderson, University Librarian, RMIT University, Australia
o Hsueh-hua Chen, National Taiwan University
o Honam Choi, Principal Researcher of Information Service Center, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, Republic of Korea
o JingKang Deng, Director, Tsinghua University Library, China
o Nor Edzan binti Che Nasir, Chief Librarian, University of Malaya Library, Malaysia

Nominations/Elections Process

The Asia Pacific Regional Council Nominating Committee will review the nominations they receive. The Nominating Committee will determine the slate of candidates. Once the Nominating Committee approves the slate, they will announce the candidates who will appear on the ballot by sending a Member Update e-mail and posting the slate of candidates on the OCLC website. This announcement is scheduled for early February 2015. Voting will take place from mid-February through late March 2015, and election results will be announced during the OCLC Global Council Annual Meeting, scheduled for 20–22 April 2015.

Asia Pacific will have five delegates on Global Council for 2015–2016. The officers (Chair, Vice Chair/Chair-Elect and Secretary) and two other Executive Committee members will serve as delegates. Craig Anderson, RMIT University, is currently the Vice Chair/Chair-Elect, and will become Chair of the Asia Pacific Regional Council Executive Committee in July 2015, for a term of one year. The other two offices and the two delegates to Global Council will be determined by the Executive Committee after the election. The remaining Executive Committee members serve as alternates, attending the Global Council meeting in place of any delegate who is unable to attend.
