Welcome to the Waco Green Business Network. The Waco We Do It Green initiative is to "Establish Waco as the Greenest Place in Texas". The Waco Green Business Network is designed to do four things:
1. Encourage Businesses to Adopt Sustainable Practices
2. Catalog the Green Activities of Greater Waco Businesses
3. Provide a venue to network and discuss green issues
4. Promote the Green Businesses from Greater Waco
We will recognize companies in the following ways:
a. A notice in Greater Waco Chamber publications - Waco Chamber Weekly, Chamber Quarterly Magazine, Waco Chamber website (www.wacochamber.com), and on the Chamber page in Waco Today.
b. Unique programs/projects may get an article in Chamber Quarterly Magazine.
c. Waco We Do It Green window sticker
d. Invitation to participate in the business networking site www.wacogreenbusinesses.com. This is a great opportunity to ask questions of other businesses and share your experiences in green activities.
e. Waco Chamber will establish a listing for your company in the national Green Directory at www.gengreenlife.com. This directory has been designated by National Geographic as the primary listing of green companies in the country.
To join the Network, you must be a member of the Greater Waco Chamber and be doing business in the Greater Waco area.
Efforts to Reduce, Recycle, Reuse and Replenish help protect the excellent Central Texas environment AND help companies maintain a cost effective operation. The following Annual Survey was developed to help you identify green practices in your business activities and to present some ideas for additional green practices.
Your business must demonstrate at least one green business practice in six of the seven following categories. Based on those practices, your company must earn a total of at least 20 points to achieve recognition. The categories are:
• Waste Prevention
• Energy and Water Conservation
• Involving Stakeholders (employees, customers, and/or suppliers in greening your business)
Your business may also be recognized for Special Projects that can be used as a model for other organizations.
Please provide additional information about your company's specific activities in the "Other" response box under each question. We hope to learn more about how Greater Waco companies are approaching sustainability. If you are interested in more information about certain topics, please note that under Question 8.
Thank you for your time and interest in participating in the survey. We look forward to your responses. We appreciate your efforts in sustainability. Welcome to the Waco Green Business Network!
