Toxic Free Laguna Petition, Fall 06

On September 29, 2006 the Sebastopol City Council approved the use of toxic herbicides to spray Pepperweed in the Laguna and plans to spend $52,000 on this project. We, the undersigned, stand opposed to any use of toxic chemicals due to their known dangers to the health of all living things, especially the young, elderly and those with compromised immune systems. We urge the City Council to use and further develop natural means to restore the long term health of the Laguna and our community. We support the City Council in its efforts to proactively model an ecologically sustainable world.
