1. SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION



The scholarship is open for the remainder of 2021-2022 academic year and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The awards will also be announced on a rolling basis and disbursements will be made twice during the 2021-2022 academic year. We encourage you to apply for the scholarship early as awards will be determined primarily on a first-come first-basis until the scholarship funds have been depleted.
  • Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
    1. The applicant is a high school senior entering college for the first time  OR a current undergraduate college student enrolled on-campus at an accredited community college, 4-year or 6-year program
    2. High school applicants must currently be enrolled at a school located in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania. Undergraduate applicants must be from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania, but may attend college anywhere in the United States.
    3. The young adult has lost a parent or guardian to cancer in the last two years
    4. The student has an average GPA of 3.0 or B average on aggregate. Please note that we are open to GPAs that fall outside this range
    5. The student provides one (1) letter of recommendation from a non-family member who is over 21 years of age
 
  • Scholarship Amount:
    • Payment will be made during the 2021-2022 academic year as a one-time payment in the total amount of $2,500.
    • The payment is disbursed at the discretion of CancerCare upon confirmation of academic enrollment in a post-secondary program.
    • The award must be allocated towards academic-related expenses
    • As a part of the scholarship recipient obligation, students agree that CancerCare has permission to use their name, picture and scholarship award information in publications and promotions
    • As a part of the scholarship recipient obligation, students are expected to commit to consistent attendance at scholarship-driven events (to the extent scheduling allows)
    • The CancerCare YPC Scholarship is a one-time scholarship. Award recipients are not eligible for future awards. 
 
 Multiple submissions are not permitted.

Failure to meet or comply with the criteria above will result in removal from scholarship consideration immediately.
