Introduction
What is First Impressions?
First Impressions is a survey York SU (your Students' Union) invites all new students to fill out at the start of every year. So if you're a new Foundation, Undergraduate, PGT or PGR student, this is your chance to share how you've found your first few weeks!
How will my feedback be used?
Your feedback helps us paint of picture of what we're doing well and what we should be doing more of. As a result of feedback from previous First Impressions surveys, we have:
- Improved our offering of postgraduate events during Welcome.

GDPR Statement: Any data you provide will be used anonymously, and your responses will not be linked to any personally identifiable information e.g. your name. Your personal data will be kept in a secure, password-protected location only for the purposes of this research, and only accessed by relevant members of York SU staff. Any personally identifiable data will only be kept for as long as it is reasonably needed - it will then be permanently destroyed.
Data that we collect through First Impressions may be used in an anonymous format in different ways, e.g. publications, presentations and online. We may also share final publications internally, and externally.
