ABOUT THE ASVO
Established in 1980, the ASVO has a long and distinguished history within the Australian wine industry, playing a critical role in leading the professional knowledge development, through running cutting-edge technical viticultural and winemaking seminars around topical industry issues, networking industry professionals, holding the key triennial Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference in partnership with the Australian Wine Research Institute and in the publishing of the world’s highest ranked peer-reviewed viticulture and wine scientific journal, the Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research.

THE AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
• The ASVO Viticulturist of the Year Award
– this award is proudly sponsored by Bayer CropScience and aims to honour an outstanding viticulturist involved in the development of a novel and significant viticultural innovation or the introduction of a novel viticultural practice over the previous five years;
• The ASVO Winemaker of the Year Award
– this award is proudly sponsored by ASVO and aims to recognise a winemaker within the industry who has demonstrated technical mastery over various aspects of winemaking;
• Best Viticultural Paper of the Year
• Best Oenology Paper of the Year Award
– these awards are proudly sponsored by the Australian Grape and Wine Authority and utilises an industry/science based panel to honour the authors of the respective viticultural and oenology papers where the potential application of the research to industry is deemed the most significant.

ELIGIBLE ENTRIES
  • Nominees for the ‘ASVO Viticulturist of the Year’ and the ‘ASVO Winemaker of the Year’ must be financial ASVO members at the date of the award submission.
  • Members may self-nominate or be nominated by a third party. Nominees who are nominated by a third party must agree to the nomination.
  • Entries should provide financial information as detailed in the ‘How to Enter’ section of this Entry Kit.
  • The majority of demonstrable results must have occurred during the last 5 years.
  • If started prior to 2010, major new initiatives or significant differences must have occurred during the last 5 years.
  • The demonstrable activities and results associated with the entry must be within Australia.

    HOW TO ENTER
  • Entries open on 3rd August 2015 and close at 5pm, 25 September 2015.
  • No late submissions will be accepted.
  • All entries must be submitted via email. Please note the email size limit of 15MB.
  • Only one entry is to be submitted per category. Select the category that best suits your entry by reading the Award requirements.
  • You may enter more than one category.
  • Entries remain the property of ASVO and will not be returned.
  • Entries are considered confidential; all judges sign confidentiality agreements.
