2017 AYCO Festival Work Study Application
Thank you for your interest in work study for the 2017 American Youth Circus Festival August 16-20th in Trenton, NJ. We are so happy you want to be involved!
We are looking for young adults ages 18-26 who are responsible, reliable, and interested in circus arts. In exchange for your volunteer time, you'll get a free conference pass - including all meals!
Work study will be accepted on a rolling basis with the final deadline of June 1st

You must be able to arrive in NJ by 12 noon on Wednesday August 16th, and stay until 2pm on Sunday August 20th. The work study team will be expected to commit to being present and available for the duration of the event. We like to be transparent that this is a full on experience without much downtime, though we will make it a priority for you to have access to the specific workshops that you are interested in!
Though work study volunteers need to be available and willing to help with any task at any time, we will take note of the types of tasks you enjoy doing (or if you have a special skill) and try to schedule you accordingly. Tasks range from meal set up and breakdown, to moving mats for workshops, to helping with scheduling and directions, etc.
For a circus person, being at an AYCO event feels like going to your home planet. Many of our past work study team have found paid work in the circus industry as a result of their participation at our events. Whether you are interested in circus learning, social circus, teaching, entrepreneurship, or creative development, the Festival is the place to be. You'll have the opportunity to take workshops and panels on a myriad of topics and network with youth, coaches, program directors, and other work study. All levels and experiences are welcome - but enthusiasm and energy are a must!
You will be responsible for your own travel and accommodation - however, there is a great AYCO rate on rooms at a local hotel (see event website for details).
