1. Measuring weekly working time
Under the EU Working Time Directive, workers should not work longer than a maximum of 48 hours per week on average. The average weekly working time can be calculated over:
- generally, up to 4 months
- in certain activities, up to 6 months
- by collective bargaining only, up to 12 months (in any activity).
