Work Matters - Early Childhood Education and Skilled Trades - Students

The purpose of this survey is to gather input from students who are interested in entering the Early Childhood Education or Skilled Trades sectors.

An Early Childhood Educator is defined as someone who develops and implements child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children as well as plans and maintains an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.

Skilled Trades is defined as an occupation requiring a particular skill set, knowledge, or ability in a hands-on environment. The following are some examples of a skilled trades occupation: goldsmith, plumber, mason, hairstylist, chef, arborist, IT programmer, machinist, carpenter, electrician, mechanic, landscaper, crane operator, blacksmith, etc.
