About the Wordsworth House & Gardens consultationACTion with Communities in Cumbria are currently working on behalf of the National Trust to engage local residents on how they would like to see Wordsworth House and Gardens used in the future.
The consultation, taking place over three months from September to December, will look to engage residents from Cockermouth and surrounding areas through a variety of methods, including surveys, open days, and creative sessions. All feedback and ideas will be welcomed and considered, including ideas that build on what people already value about the space, as well as suggestions of creative and different ways the site could be used to meet community needs.
The National Trust will not be closing Wordsworth House and Gardens. The purpose of this work is to gather community views on how this much-loved site may be able to better serve the needs and interests of local residents in the future. The results of this engagement will be used alongside other consultation work to help develop a new model for the site.

This survey intends to gather initial thoughts about the site and how it could be used. The feedback gathered from this survey will inform the consultation and will be used alongside feedback gathered from the open days and creative engagement sessions we will be running.
