New Narratives of Gender in the Media
April 8 & 9, 2019
King's College
Proposals Due February 22

This year the Women’s Studies Program at King’s College and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Wilkes University are jointly hosting a conference on the theme of “New Narratives of Gender in the Media.” The theme this year asks participants to consider how gender has influenced, changed in, and been changed by various media platforms. As in years past, we are happy to have presentations on a broad range of gender-related topics, which do not have to connect directly to the conference theme.

We invite students, staff, faculty, and community members to participate in this conference, which will take place April 8 and 9, 2019. Session types include research presentations, panel discussions, poster presentations, video screenings, and performance art (e.g., poetry slam, dramatic performance, dance). We also welcome presentations about service learning, community service, and travel abroad opportunities.

Presentation proposals are due by February 22, 2019.
