Scholarship & Internship
This scholarship is awarded annually to eligible students. Participating WiTT sponsors offer a $2,500 scholarship and a summer internship to a female student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. WiTT matches the scholarship so that each student receives a total of $3,500. Each student will be awarded a paid summer internship from participating companies. She will receive the scholarship in the fall semester following successful completion of the internship.
To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field as a full-time undergraduate student
- Preference will be given to a student with an overall minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
- Have completed 60 credit hours
- Students receiving the scholarship will be qualified for renewal if they continue to meet all other criteria for an additional semester or a total of 2 semesters
- Recipients of these scholarships must be eligible for participating companies' Summer Internship Program and must be available to participate.
APPLICATION MATERIALS
Applicants need to complete the application and interview process with the partnering organization, and submit the following materials in order to be considered:
- A completed WiTT application (below)
- A resume
- An unofficial transcript
- A maximum 500-word essay describing their career goals, how the scholarship and internship would advance those career goals, and why they wish to pursue their career in Middle Tennessee
