Welcome

Do you want to get involved to improve health care in Westmead Hospital?

Do you want to have a say in how things happen and help the hospital understand what you need from health services?

Consumer and Community Representatives are people who collaborate with health staff and services to bring about health reforms. These roles are voluntary.

A Consumer Representative brings their experiences of health care - either as a patient, friend or carer - at Westmead Hospital to join conversations about improving health services.

Community Representatives bring their knowledge and experience of the needs of distinct communities relying on Westmead Hospital, to inform the hospital planners and managers about the special requirements of their communities, that may be a barrier to equitable access of health care.

Please note, this is not the role of a complaint maker. Community and Consumer Representatives are collaborative and are able to interact with staff respectfully and can expect to be treated respectfully by staff who are also concerned with improving health care at Westmead.

The aim of the Westmead Hospital Community Council is to build a better health service for everyone.

If you wish to be considered as either a Consumer Representative or a Community Representative, please complete the online form below.
