We Hire Ability – Employer Nomination by Partner Organization 2023-2024

We Hire Ability is a new employer recognition program celebrating businesses who are advancing a culture of inclusion in Texas! Employers whose Texas-based workforce is composed of a least 10 percent individuals with disabilities in competitive integrated employment are eligible to receive a “We Hire Ability” decal to proudly display on their storefront, along with an electronic decal to display on their website. Employers selected for this recognition will be designated as We Hire Ability employers for a two-year period starting in 2023 through December 2024. This statewide recognition is also aligned with the Texas Workforce Commission’s Texas HireAbility campaign and is designed to raise awareness about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities.

Nomination Process

Employers in Texas may be considered to receive the We Hire Ability recognition. Businesses do not need to be headquartered in Texas to be considered.

Complete all sections of this form.
Businesses may nominate themselves, or may be nominated by a Local Workforce Development Board, Local Mayor’s Committee working with the Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities, a local economic development organization or a Vocational Rehabilitation Services manager.
A Vocational Rehabilitation representative will acknowledge receipt of your nomination and may request additional information if necessary.
Businesses selected will be notified by mail and email. They may also be invited to participate in a ceremony presented by a TWC Commissioner. Announcements and event ceremonies may also be held in conjunction with Texas HireAbility events during National Disability Employment Awareness Month each October.
Publicity Opportunities – Throughout the year, We Hire Ability employers may be consulted for best practices or profiled for articles, interviews or other opportunities to publicize their business’ participation in the program. Coordination of these opportunities is through TWC’s Communications Department and Vocational Rehabilitation Division.
